On Saturday, May 25th we had 26 participants who braved the cold and rainy conditions with the heavy downfall resulting in a change to a 9-hole competition and having an earlier dinner. This was gladly accepted by even the most dedicated golfers. As in past years, teams were made by separating golfers into two groups based on handicaps and a name from the "low" group was paired with one from the "high" group by blind draw. Several of the skill prizes were also awarded by draw since players didn't get to those holes!
1st Place Team - Colleen DeRosa and Sheila Johnson - Best Ball 9-hole score 31
2nd Place Team - Gerianne Hanik and Carol Babcock - Best Ball 9-hole score 33
3rd Place Team - Pat Gagne and Pam Clermont - Best Ball 9-hole score 34
4th Place Team - Rose Katnich and Cheryl Kerby - Best Ball 9-hole score 35R
5th Place Team - Sandy Wallace and Mary Larmour - Best Ball 9-hole score 35R
KP on #2 won by Sheila Johnson, Deuce Pot won by Jan Hollett, Longest Putt on #9 was Libby Weaver - way to go gals
The Social Draw was won by Maureen Elliott, our Tournament Chair - congratulations!
The Bistro provided a wonderful Mexican Fiesta buffet dinner which was a huge hit. Thanks to the pro shop for all their assistance and to Mike and his crew for marking the course. Let's hope the rainy spring is reaching its end and lots of warmth and sunshine ahead!
And special thanks to Pat Gagne and Pam Clermont who were our scorekeepers at this event. With the sudden change to a 9-hole format there were several edits required in the tournament manager system and we encountered a few unexpected issues, primarily as I hadn't double checked all the 9-hole information (didn't think we'd ever need it!). But the three of us worked together to get everything working as it should for the front nine red tees and all the other tees have been fixed since. Whew - disaster avoided!
